KING’S QUEST – VOICING A MODERN CLASSIC
King’s Quest has been a pillar in the gaming world since Sierra Entertainment released the first title of the series in 1984. More than 30 years later, King’s Quest has been recognized as a classic staple in the canon of adventure games.
So when Activision announced they would be teaming with Sierra and game developer The Odd Gentlemen to bring a new, reimagined installment of King’s Quest to life in 2015, gamers young and old were quick to take notice – and C4 Media was excited to join the movement by creating a series of behind-the-scenes spots around the new title.
We stepped directly into the game-making process at The Odd Gentlemen, shooting and editing interviews that shed a spotlight on the art direction, music, voice over talent, and overall vision behind King’s Quest. The voice over spot – featuring the game’s actors including Christopher Lloyd and Wallace Shawn – drew a whopping 79 million impressions in just 24 hours. C4 Media also created original 3D motion graphics for this BTS series.
